Let Me Design a Class or Program Just for You

When you first come to see me, we’ll start with a chat!   You’re welcome to offer as much or as little information as you’d like.  I generally like to ask about your health & exercise history, family & occupational life, your injury if you have one, and your goals for our time together.   You’ll have an opportunity to ask me questions as well.   

 

Before any comprehensive workout plan can be developed and implemented, we need to establish a baseline understanding of your posture and movement tendencies.  To do this, I will observe you standing and moving.  The information gained from my assessment often reveals movement impairments and compensation resulting from muscle imbalance.  In other words, the assessment will tell me what muscles are overactive (in a chronically shortened state) and what muscles are underactive (in a chronically lengthened state).  From there, I can develop a plan of action for us to implement together!

 

Your plan will consist of stretching what’s overactive and strengthening what’s underactive. Ultimately, we’ll address your movement efficiency and teach you how to recruit the proper muscles at the proper time. The result will be improved performance, movement quality and resistance to injury.

 

For the athlete, your program will be a customized movement preparation or “warm-up” sequence based on the functional requirements and performance demands of your sport.  We'll look at your particular needs and plan accordingly.
